The Hustler

The Hustler is a movie about pool hustler Fast Eddie Felson, filmed back in the 1960s. Felson is played by Paul Newman. He shoots championship pool against the famous Minnesota Fats, played by Jackie Gleason. The love interest is provided by Piper Laurie, and the antagonist is played by George C. Scott. I watched the movie on PBS (no commercials) late last night and didn't get to bed till after eleven, which is really late, for me.

There is something about that old movie that touches my emotions like none of the newer films seem able to do. Don't know why.
