    Dear Gene,

    Again I ask you not to disappear. This is a selfish request. My life these days is filled with radical changes that require me to make precarious decisions. Seems as if your life, as well, is moving you into different spaces. Perhaps, then, you'll understand the precious value of constancy. As a writer, you have taught me much. As a friend, you have taught me even more. So, wherever you may land, please hook up that cable modem and get to work providing for your readers.
