And Nature Takes Its Course

As I mentioned in an entry last week, I snapped a shot at around 8 P.M. of the Moon and Venus as seen from the pool deck. As usual, my camera does not do so well in darkness, but it did not do so badly in this instance.

 Below is a shot of the Catalina Mountains taken from the deck of the swimming pool. The feature that makes this photo different is the inclusion of the reflection of the scene from the water in the pool.

 

At the moment I can't locate the pictures of the wash overgrown with brush. When I find it I will post it in an upcoming  entry.

Here is an early morning shot of the mountain peaks in the North being illuminated by the sun rising in the Southeast.

Brenda Mae Tarpley, known as Brenda Lee, is an American performer who sang rockabilly, pop and country music, and had 37 US chart hits during the 1960s. She is best known for her 1960 hit "I'm Sorry", and 1958's "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree", a US holiday standard for more than 50 years. Lee achieved her biggest success on the pop charts in the late 1950s through the mid-1960s with rockabilly and rock and roll-styled songs. Her biggest hits included "Jambalaya", "Sweet Nothin's",  "I Want to Be Wanted" , "All Alone Am I" and "Fool No. 1".

Max Born was a German-British physicist and mathematician who was instrumental in the development of quantum mechanics. He also made contributions to solid-state physics and optics and supervised the work of a number of notable physicists in the 1920s and 30s. Born won the 1954 Nobel Prize in Physics (shared with Walther Bothe).

Rita Moreno is a Puerto Rican singer, dancer and actress. She is the only Hispanic and one of the few performers to have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony, and was the second Puerto Rican to win an Academy Award.

She also appeared in Singin' in the Rain, The King and I, Summer and Smoke (1961), West Side Story, The Night of the Following Day (1968) and Carnal Knowledge in (1971)
