Dreams And Imagination

While contemplating the subject of idle dreamers (wool-gatherers) and their possibly close relationship with active imaginations, I found myself composing the following sentence which could someday become an aphorism of sorts.

"Dreams are but remnants of daytime's active imaginings."

The Lord and Lady of the manor are home now and I will be heading back into Tucson a little later this morning. Back to the ol' routine.

On this day in 44 B.C. Julius Caesar, the "dictator for life" of the Roman Empire, was murdered by his own senators at a meeting in a hall next to Pompey's Theatre. The conspiracy against Caesar encompassed as many as sixty noblemen, including Caesar's own protege, Marcus Brutus.

Servilius Casca struck the first blow, hitting Caesar in the neck and drawing blood. The other senators all joined in, stabbing him repeatedly about the head. Marcus Brutus wounded Caesar in the groin and Caesar is said to have remarked in Greek, "You, too, my child?"

Two years later Cassius and Brutus committed suicide.
