Monday Memorial Day Feast

Yesterday, Monday (Memorial Day) we (myself, Mike, JoAnn, Tim, and Michelle) were treated to a magnificent dinner hosted by Chef Mike... and it was fantabulous!

I was allowed to watch the initial preparation of the main course which was a Roasting Chicken mounted atop a "beer can" and subsequently placed upon the grate of Mike's almost new Weber Grill. The can did not contain the traditional beer but was instead filled with a 'secret ingredient' and I won't disclose that secret. You will have to guess.

Here is a shot of the initial prep.

When the grilling was finished (after an hour and a half cooking time) I was allowed to snap another picture.

Looks delicious, doesn't it?

The item on the side is an assortment of skewered fruits (heavenly honey-cinnamon apple halves) which was a fine addition to the beer-can chicken.

Here is a close up of the skewers with alternating apple halves and additional grilled chicken thighs.

Yummy!

Mike received sincere and repeated kudos for his efforts in preparing this stupendous meal.

Oh, yes... dessert was an amazing fruit salad of melon balls, fresh blueberries, blackberries and other fruits atop shortcake cakes.

"Uhm... MMMM!"

Truly a meal to remember.

Thank you, Chef Mike.
